Daily Journal: 1-24-2015

I planned to work out before our event in Robinsons Cybergate but I realized that I need to be early because I have bosses from Manila coming to the event. I went early and I arrived around 11:30 am. Ariane was the only one at the exhibit and my agents did not have guests yet. I had a some snacks with Ms. Christine and the boys from marketing. In the afternoon, Geneva had her guest.  Ariana and Christy had guests too. I was able to see Tita Anette and Lotlot.

Lotlot and I ate at Kublai Khan then we had a round of coffee and bread at Bo's Coffee courtesy of Robinsons Homes. I can say that the event was quite successful. The agents were participative and they brought some guests.  I passed by offloads to buy a slice of blueberry cheesecake and silvannas for my wife.

3 Good Things:
1. Agents had guests in the event.
2. I got a surprise money from Robinsons Homes.
3. I was able to give Tita Anette and Lotlot some money.

Daily Journal 1-23-2015

I spent the whole morning basically blogging and writing after I drove Stephie to school.  I fell asleep staring at the monitor at around noontime. Anne asked me to come with them to inspect Aspen Heights and the competitor projects. I arrived at Parkmall at 1:30 pm but it took them around 2 hours to fetch me at the mall.  While waiting, I looked around and took photos of some of the animals at the Pet Expo.  I also had some vegetable lumpia as snacks.

At around 3:30, the group proceeded to Consolacion.  The were quiet a number of changes at the site.  There were new flags and billboards upon entering Aspen Heights Subdivision. The alleys were also being constructed already.  The roads at the overlooking portion of the subdivision is almost complete.  I would like to update my blog for Aspen Heights after seeing the changes. We got stuck somewhat in traffic at the barangay road near Forum School.  It is kinda annoying that the road has not been widened.

We decided to check out Amara before we go back home. I received a text from Carri Doloricon about the new promo at Amisa. The condo units are now available for a 10 year lease.  It sounded interesting and I decided to revive my online pages for the condo project.

I went home around 6:45 just in time to eat dinner with Steph. It was a somewhat busy day and I am going to be busy updating my blogs for Robinsons Land Corporation projects.

3 Good things:
1.  New updates for Aspen Heights and Amisa
2. Geneve having a good tripping.  We are praying that the client will buy.
3. I wrote quiet a number of posts.

Daily Journal 1-22-2015

The day started pretty early and my wife was not late for her 8 am class. There was heavy traffic again in the Hernan Cortes intersection as their was activity in the road construction in the Sta. Lucia area. I got stuck more 15 minutes near Alpa City Suites.

I had a meeting with the Robinsons Homes Sales head from Manila at Joven's Grill. We just talked about the updates on the project which seems to be so slow.  I am really having a hard time looking for new agents to push Aspen Heights and Blue Coast Residences.  We have to find a way to sell those RFO houses before I can finally move on.

Flo and I went to the office of Landtraders to check on their projects and then we went to look at the showroom of the Bloq Residences.  The Bloq Residences is an interesting project.  The equity is just 5,000 a month for 24 months. Units are below 1 Million pesos.

In the afternoon, I was able to buy milk tea from bean leaf and some vitamins for Steph.  Traffic was heavy once again in the H.Cortes and I ended up in Parkmall. In Parkmall, I was able to buy some breakfast items and dog food.  I also bought roasted chicken from SM and I bet on the lottery. It's a good thing that SM has a payment center and I was able to pay our BPI bill.  While waiting for the chicken, I was able to buy ngohiong for Steph.

The day was in a way all about food.  I had a filling buffet lunch and I really enjoyed the roasted chicken for dinner. There are challenges work but I guess there are times that situations force us to be creative.  It is time for me to act and try to have some innovation in my job as a real estate practitioner.

3 Things I am Thankful for:
1. Good food all day.
2. Safe Travel.
3. Paying Bills.

Sinulog and Cebu City's Trash Problem

Cebu City does not have a place to throw their trash.  The trash has to be dumped in Consolacion yet some barangays do not even have a decent garbage truck. Mayor Mike Rama is not a hurry to buy trucks and according to another Sunstar article, 197 tons of trash were gathered in the Sinulog aftermath.  Is there a way to make the Sinulog cleaner?

How can we make the festival fun and not contribute to a soon to be big problem?  I do not think that the government can really do anything about it unless there is a commitment to become cleaner and more environmentally-conscious from the individuals.

Here some ways we could ease the problem:

1. Start an online campaign on cleanliness.  People should take pictures of the Sinulog and shame those who just throw garbage indiscriminately.
2. Add more trash cans.  Each establishment should have enough trash bins and the City Council should give a hefty for establishments that would not comply.  There should be a harsh for punishment for people caught stealing or vandalising trash cans.
3. Designate a place to throw bottles. A lot of liquor bottles were put under cars.
4.  There should be some sort of littering police during the Sinulog to reprimand people who do not observe cleanliness.
5.  More garbage trucks and garbage collectors.
6. Encourage businessmen to invest in recycling plants by giving more tax perks for people who establish businesses that will help in the garbage problem.
7. Invest in sanitary landfills.  Cebu City should have there own landfill and not rely on the neighbouring towns.

Do you have any suggestions to solve this problem??

Caloy's Biography Chapter I: The Beginning

Today is January 20, 2015 I am in my room at the house of my in laws. I am 38 years old and I feel neither young nor old. Today, I decided to start my autobiography.  I am nobody to most of the people but I am somebody to a few friends and colleagues. I have no intentions to be very famous but I also want to leave something to the next generation especially my bloodline.

I have been married for 10 years and I still do not have a child. I am still hoping that my wife and I will be blessed with children but the odds are actually bleak. If I ever have kids and eventually grandkids, I would really want them to read this.

So far, I can say that have an ordinary life. It is in a way mediocre in achievements but it is rich of lessons.  I am thankful to God with my life so far. I have struggled, I have failed, I have cried, and I can say that I have experienced many things. I believe each life is extraordinary and mine is.  I believe that there is a God and there is a good reason for me to be born into this world.

When was I born? I was born at the Perpetual Succour Hospital in 1976. My mom was a clerk while my dad was more of a self-employed guy. I have to brothers with my parents and I am the first born.  My dad is from Bohol while mom traces her roots to Danao, Cebu and Ormoc.

What can I remember of my childhood? I spent my early years in Banawa, Cebu City.  We had a small house and we had a store.  Our subdivision has a well organised subdivision. There were may kids my age. I would say it was a happy childhood.  Our subdivision is close to what is now the Alliance of Two Hearts Parish.  It was just a chapel then.

Since we had a store, I learned how to add and to subtract money at a young age. I feel in love with numbers very early in my life. Jai Alai was still the "in" thing and I somehow got more fascinated with number by looking at the tips.

I started school when I was 5 going 6.  I studied kindergarten in the University of San Carlos Girl's High. I usually take a tartanilla o kalesa to school. A tartanilla is a horse driven carriage.  I was an above average student and I have shown my mathematical abilities early.  I was really one of the best when it comes to adding and subtracting and even in multiplying and dividing.  I studied at USC until I was grade two.

Changes in my life...my blog

Change is always inevitable.  Everyday, we change somewhat. We age. Our friends age. Our pets age.  We cannot really stop change. A lot of us just let change happen and feel helpless. Today, I realized that I should become the initiator of change.  I want to be the agent of change.  I want to start transforming myself to something different.  The world is already full of cliches about being better but in reality, only a few can consistently say that they change for the better. Change is not always for the better.  Change is just the starter for better.  What I mean is, change is just a start and we have a choice on how it should affect our lives.  The positive people always look at it as an opportunity on the other hand the negatives will look at it as a bad thing.

Today, I want to reinvent my self.  I want to be true to myself and not fantasize to be someone else. I want to change my life and I should not just let life change me. I still have choices and I am going to make the most out of it. Like a snake, I have to shed my old skin and look different.  I really want to look way different than last year.

Now,  will define properly what this blog is all about. This blog is about the nonsense that goes to my mind.  Nonsense because initially my thoughts does not really makes sense but eventually upon further examination, things become clearer. This blog could contain jokes, green stuff, rants, and even opinion on events that are important or important to me. I am irrelevant. I am not famous.  I am a mere speck of tiny dust in this wide universe. Come to think of it, I am just one of the billions of people who passed by this world. I could say I am fortunate to live but I will test myself if indeed a speck of dust can make a difference.

Today, is the start of the new me and I will use this blog to leave something behind to the next generation. My thoughts, my trials, my triumphs, and even obscurity will be revealed.  This blog is my autobiography.
